What Credit Union Marketers Should Focus On This March
Mar 05, 2026
March is a momentum month. Members are making financial decisions — tax refunds, spring travel, car shopping, fresh starts — and your credit union has a real opportunity to show up for them right now.
Here are a few places worth putting your energy.
Meet Members Where They Are
Before you plan anything, think like a member. What's on their mind right now? Refund season, spring spending, car deals ramping up. If your marketing isn't speaking to any of that, it's easy to get tuned out. Start there.
Be Real, Not Polished
This is the time to lean into authenticity. The content that connects isn't always the most produced — it's the most human. Your team, your community, your actual members. That realness is what builds trust, and trust is what drives decisions.
Test Your Own Experience
One of the most valuable things you can do this month costs nothing: apply for one of your own loans like a member would. Use your phone. Go through the whole process. You'll find friction you didn't know was there — and fixing even one thing can meaningfully improve your results all year.
Start Preparing for Youth Month Now
April is Youth Month and it comes fast. Are you celebrating in-branch? Do you have a social plan? Is your staff talking about youth accounts with members? Starting early is the whole game.
